I bought this book as a Christmas present for a vampire-loving friend, after reading a rave review of it on Bookshelves of Doom. It was the very first time that I'd ever gifted a book that I hadn't previously read. My friend promptly accused me of buying her drugs for Christmas, since she'd been up all night reading the book, unable to put it down. She insisted that I read it and, although it took a little bit to get going, I was unable to put it down once I got into the story. In fact, I stayed up until 1 a.m. on a Thursday night to finish the book, without worrying about the fact that I'd be exhausted the next day at work.
