I'm not having very good luck with books this weekend! Although the premise of this book sounded interesting, the writing style irritated me. I found that the constant back and forth (voice on the tape, narrator's internal thoughts, voice on tape, narrators comments, voice on tape, etc) was starting to get on my nerves. If the voice on the tape could have talked for a few pages, then switched back to the narrator, I would have been able to handle it. But the voices switched every sentence or two. That was too much to handle. I skimmed through the rest of the book to see if this stopped once the story got going and, nope, looks like it continues for the remainder of the book. The story wasn't grabbing me enough to continue to tough it out.
