I actually surprised myself by really enjoying this book. After struggling to get through the last few in the Pretty Little Liars series, I honestly wasn't expecting to like this book as much as I did. To be fair, it does have its faults. I mean, the secret long-lost twin story? Is this a YA novel or a daily soap opera? And the narration irritated me a few times, since one twin is first person narration and the other twin is third person narration. Which sounds contradictory, except that you really are in both twins' heads, but the story is mainly told through the third person's viewpoint, even with the use of "I" occasionally. And I think my attempt at describing this phenomenon just muddled me up even more. Most of the time I didn't notice this while I was reading, but every once in a while I would have to flip back a page in order to find out who was speaking. On the flip side, Shepard is a very talented storyteller. I have to give her credit for that. She knows how to weave a good story and keep the reader interested. I'm a little sad that my library doesn't have a copy of the next book in the series, so I'll have to wait a while.
